Children training on a clay pitch below blocks of flats

02  /  What we do

Sport changes the game.
Community changes lives.

Training, tournaments, tutoring, pitches and a way forward. Six activities that together make up one working model.

01Activities

Football is only
the visible part

From the outside it looks like a football club. Inside it is a safe environment, a regular routine, an adult who can be trusted, and doors opening one by one that the children did not know existed.

Regular training

The foundation of everything. Two or three times a week, on a pitch where the children live. No registration, no membership fees, no requirement to be any good already.

Tournaments and matches

Teams from across the towns take part in football and futsal tournaments. For many children it is the first trip outside their own neighbourhood.

A route into clubs

The best and most committed players move into football and futsal clubs where they can play organised national competitions.

Education and development

If you want to play, you go to school. Alongside training we add tutoring, work on responsibility and conversations about what comes next.

Building facilities

The pitch in Krásné Březno came directly out of the team’s initiative. Where there is no space, we try to create it.

International programmes

The development programme of the Norwegian organisation MOT, tournaments abroad, exchange of experience with similar projects in Europe.

02A case from practice

From a concrete yard
to the national team

The key is the cooperation with the top-tier futsal club FC Rapid Ústí nad Labem, a partner of Mongaguá practically from the beginning.

The clearest example is Daniel Hajaš. From the Mongaguá team he made it to the under-19 futsal national team and into the Rapid “A” squad.

This is not the exception that proves the rule. It is proof that the route exists — and there are others in the teams who can take it.
