How it worksGrassroots social impact platform / in the field since 2015
Mongaguá uses sport so that children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds get a safe place, positive role models and a real chance to change their future.
01Mongaguá in one minute
We are not a distant institution deciding about social problems from an office. We are on the estates, on the pitches, among the parents and among the children. The model that started in Ústí nad Labem on a concrete yard in front of a block of flats now runs in eighteen teams across the country.

How it worksIt builds relationships, responsibility and positive role models right where the children live.
How it worksIt connects sport with education and personal development. Training is not the goal, it is the tool.

03How it works
The model is simple and that is exactly why it can be replicated. Every location goes through it the same way — only the people, the pitch and the pace change.
We are where the children spend their time. Not in an office, but in front of the block of flats.
Regular training gives the week a structure and the child a place to belong.
The coach is often the first adult outside the family the child trusts.
To the sport we add school, responsibility and work on their own future.
A move into a club, a finished school, a job. A concrete next step.
05Where we work
It is a model that can be built anywhere there is a pitch and someone who cares about the children. Click on a town and see who leads it.
founding location
Krásné Březno. A concrete yard between blocks of flats that became a pitch. The most active team in the network.
Is there a space in your town or neighbourhood where the Mongaguá model could work?
We help start new local teams and connect people, towns, organisations and partners who want to create a safe and active space for children and young people.
06For companies
Mongaguá connects companies with communities where their social responsibility can create concrete, long-term impact. Not a logo on a banner. Cooperation that shows in the field.
01
We are right inside the communities the problem concerns. Not above them.
02
The partner sees where and how their involvement works. The name of the town, the name of the coach, the number of children.
03
A partnership can be tied to a specific town where the company operates.
04
Employees can take part in some of the activities — from mentoring to repairing a pitch.
05
This is not a one-off charity event but the building of a stable environment.
07Mongaguá in the media
A sports club that gives children from poor families a new perspective and tries to lead them out of the spiral of unemployment and poverty.

Mongaguá football among the tower blocks: tear down the wall, fix the pitch, play against racism.

Public institutions, towns, sports clubs and private companies. We do not rank partnerships by the size of the contribution — in the field the one who provides the jerseys matters as much as the one who pays the coach.
The OPRE Mongaguá project is co-funded by the European Union under the Jan Amos Komenský Operational Programme.
Tell us what your company does and where it operates. We will find a way to turn it into something that changes a specific place.
